Obituary of Carman Waite
WAITE: Carman Henry –
A lifelong resident of Highgate, Carman Waite passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with his family at his side on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the age of 90.
Born in Dunwich Township, Carman was the son of the late Harry and Edna (Humphrey) Waite.
Loving father of Gary William Waite (Patty) of London, Cynthia Schoonjans (Doug) of R.R. # 1 Ridgetown, Rhonda Hogan (Clarence) of Timmins.
Proud grandfather of William Gary Waite, Nicholas Waite (Sylvia), Cory Waite (Nichol), Joseph Waite (Amanda), Tricia Waite (Dan); Jennifer Schoonjans-Bradley (Erik) and Carrie Schoonjans.
Great-Grampa to Josh, Hope, Amelia, Ainslee, Connor and Pax.
Predeceased by seven brothers.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Carman had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 335 Highgate since 1949. He loved fishing, playing cards, and watching the Highgate Rock Team play baseball. Carman retired from Canada Packers after 40 years of service.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Carman’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Cremation has taken place with interment to follow at Gosnell Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Carman to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 335 Highgate or the Village on the Ridge: Resident’s Council would be appreciated.
