It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carly Ann Munro, age 35. She passed away suddenly in her home in Smithers, leaving behind her daughter, Berlynn Solly. Carly is survived by her mom Bev, her dad Gord, her brother Tyler and her nephew Kaiden.
Carly graduated from Charles Hays High School in Prince Rupert. She moved to Grande Prairie where she became a Red Seal journeyman welder and had her precious daughter, Berlynn. They eventually moved to Smithers where they settled into the life of this beautiful town. Carly worked at the Smithers Golf Course and wore many hats; grounds keeper, pro shop attendant, and finally became the assistant bar manager. She called the golf course her “happy place”. Her welcoming smile and outgoing personality touched everyone that went there. She loved playing baseball, working out at the pool fitness centre, and recently started taking an interest in learning how to play golf. Her daughter Berlynn was the apple of her eye and she was so proud of her many talents as a student, musician and young artist.
Carly will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the golf community.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 28th in the Smithers Golf Course Club House at 2:00 p.m.
