Obituary of Carl Haid
Carl was a kind, loving, generous man of faith who passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the age of 72 years. He passed away at Innisfree House after a struggle with a brain tumour.
Loving husband of Sandra (Detzler) Haid. He raised five children of whom he was very proud, Rob (Elizabeth) Haid, Sue Sawchuk, Vicky Keller, Mike (Amy) Haid and Amanda (Mike) Kuntz. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel and Amy Haid, Daniel (Tara), David and Dylan Sawchuk, Stephanie (Mathew) King, Evan (Alex) Keller, Avery and Megan Haid, Julia and Lydia Kuntz as well as two great-grandsons Anderson King and James Sawchuk. Carl is also survived by his sisters Marie Henhoeffer, Helen (Bruce) Golden, Barbara (Andy) Detzler, Joan (Len) Dietrich, and brothers Robert, Raymond (Donna), Brian, Leonard (Marj), Donnie (Brenda) Haid and Joseph (Dianne) Strauss as well as many extended family members.
Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Matilda Haid and his brother-in-law Gerry Henhoeffer.
Carl was a long-time, dedicated employee of Canbar from where he retired in his 50th year of service. Days after his retirement he went to work for his son at Iron Bridge Fabrication. He loved his work.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Carl with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha RC Church on Friday, August 10 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Daniel Lobsinger, CR as Celebrant. Interment at St. Agatha Cemetery. Reception will take place at St. Agatha Community Centre.
