OBITUARY
Byrd Robert Carl Quist
July 23, 1934 – June 16, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Byrd Quist of Pitt Meadows. After a brief illness, he passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday June 16, 2018 at Surrey Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. Born in Duncan BC on July 23rd 1934, he grew up farming before heading to trade school to become a heavy-duty mechanic. His early career was spent working throughout all areas of the province. Never one to sit still, he loved fixing machines and always kept busy working on his projects at home. He met his soul mate at a community dance in Pitt Meadows in 1959. They married and lived happily in this community for 55 years. In recent years, they enjoyed travelling and loved the many road trips they took together exploring the far reaches of BC and the North. He is survived by his beloved wife Helen; children
Brenda (Glenn), John (Dana), Robert (Debra); grandchildren Christy (Cam), Beth (Chris), Justin (Daria), Tara, Alicia, Virginia, Dustin and great grandchildren Tianna and Landon as well as siblings Mary and Norman plus many nieces, nephews and extended family.
