DONALDSON, Mary Blanche “Nibby” (Niblock)
In comfort after a brief decline of health, at Windsor Park Manor with family by her side on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in her 92nd year. Loving wife of the late William Dwight “Bill” Donaldson. Cherished mother of Julie (Ed Warrysh), Andy (Karen), and the late Murray. Proud grandmother of Sandy (Jana), Ross, Destinée, Sam, Oliver, Lee (Christina), Chloe (Kerstin) and the late Phillip. She will also be missed by 3 adorable great-grand-children, Makenna, Camden and Will; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, near and far. Dear sister to Ruth Frayne and the late Keith and Manford. She grew up in Ottawa, and was happily married to Bill on Sept 20, 1947 for 59 years, until his death in 2007. Together they worked hard to build a home and life near Metcalfe. She worked at Met Life for a time, did secretarial & support work, caring for family and others, volunteering for Heart & Stroke, Meals on Wheels, and the United Church Women. She loved playing cards, church, gardening, taking cruises and hosting memorable holiday dinners. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Metcalfe United Church, 2677 8th Line Rd, Metcalfe, ON from 1-2 pm, Thursday June 28, 2018, Memorial Service to follow at 2 pm. Afterward you are invited to Celebrate Nibby’s life at the Donaldson “Farm” on 9th Line Road, Metcalfe. Special thanks to Windsor Park Manor staff for their kindness and expert care.
