With heavy hearts we grieve the loss of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Beverly Jane Kasprick on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 70 years.
Left to cherish Bev’s memory are her children Dawn (Jeff) Brooks, Leslie (Chad) Schaan, Brenda (Dean) Buschau, Cindy (Trent) Ward and Marnie (Jake) Leflar; eleven grandchildren Brendan, Delaney and Mackenzie Brooks, Amanda and Dylan Schaan, Carter and Greta Buschau, Kirby and Kerry Ward, Jade and Shaelyn Leflar; and great-granddaughter Rory. Also left to mourn are her sisters Pat and Lorraine; special sister-in-law Elaine and brother-in-law Norb and their families.
Bev was predeceased by her husband Kas; parents Jane and Olaf; and siblings Gerry, Marvin and Jim.
Bev spent her youth moving about Ontario and south eastern Manitoba as her family followed the lumber industry. Bev eventually settled in Winnipeg with her mother. She met and married Kas in 1965 and began to raise their family of five girls, eventually settling in Portage la Prairie.
Bev’s favourite past times included baking for her family, making dill pickles, watching the Jets and the Blue Jays and completing the daily Jumbo and crossword. She was proud of her family and enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, always with a ziploc bag of cookies or cinnamon buns on hand to send home with them.
Because of her determined nature, she could accomplish anything she set her mind to. In recent years, Bev spent more time outdoors, enjoying tending to her flowers, vegetable garden, and fruit trees.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie, led by Rev. Kathy Platt.
