Beulah Leone Surette
1927-2018
Beulah Leone Surette – 90, of New Minas, passed
away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Canning, Kings County she was a daughter of the
late Allen and Jennie (Fancy) Carey. She had been employed in various
ladies wear stores throughout the province and later worked with the
federal government. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church, Kentville, where she was active with the Catholic
Women’s League. She enjoyed volunteering, baking, cooking
and knitting. She is survived by her children, Allen (Anne) Sullivan,
Pleasantville; Valeria Sullivan and Judi (Edward) Hollett, both of
Halifax; step-children, Susan (Holly), Joey and Patrick Surette, all
of Yarmouth; a sister, Phyllis Butler, New Minas; four grandchildren,
six great grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two
husbands, Billie Sullivan and Ludger Surette; a son, Billie; three
sisters, Annie Harvie, Julia Rogers and Gloria Brannon. Cremation has
taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral
service, followed by a reception, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday,
January 26, 2018 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church,
Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. Burial will take place
in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers
only by request. Donations in memory may be made to Health Services
Foundation South Shore – The Journey Room or St.
Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
