OBITUARY
Betty Joan Harrison
April 18, 1930 – June 14, 2018
Betty Joan Harrison (nee Fulton), passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 88 years. Born in Vulcan, Alberta, Betty was the eldest child of Roy and Ethel Fulton. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband D. Keith Harrison (2002), her parents, brother Lyle (1944), sister Enid (Jake) Hamm (2010), and grandson Jordan McKinnon (2016). She is survived by her loving family: Jo-Ann (George) Neubert, Sheila Shaw, Brock (Barb) Harrison, all of Calgary; Gail Harrison of Katy, Texas; and Allison (Wayne) McKinnon of Strathmore. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Chad (Ardelle), Scott (Nicole), Karen, Tara (Mike), Lachie and Kyle; and six great-grandchildren.
Betty loved to sew and knit thus spending many an hour on projects for the next great craft sale. At one time, she was also your local Tupperware dealer and, with immense pride, your favorite Avon Lady. She won many awards and vacations from both endeavors because of her product knowledge and salesmanship. Betty and Keith were, in their early years, great square dancers, always willing for an evening of dance and laughter on Saturday night with friends at the 264 Royal Canadian Legion. She also loved to host potluck dinners and card parties. In their retirement years, Betty and Keith were snowbirds. They travelled extensively throughout the United States; finally enjoying many years in their park model in Mesa, Arizona escaping the cold Alberta winters.
The family extends our heartfelt thanks to the staff at AgeCare Glenmore, and Lake Bonavista Village Retirement Residence for their gentle care of Betty during the past year.
A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail (at Lake Fraser Gate), Calgary, AB on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
