Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Brown was born July 24th, 1927 at Scarside farm west of Innisfail to Robert and Constance Huntly. She grew up on the family farm and took an active part in all aspects of the farm work, learning how to milk a cow at age five. For a number of years she ran the concession and membership booth at the Innisfail Ski Hill and did catering at the Innisfail Hereford Center. In 1977 she married James Hugh Brown and they lived on the farm until 1985 when they moved into the town of Innisfail. After Jim’s passing in 2012 Betty continued to be active in the church and the Ladies Orange Benevolent Association.
