Obituary of Betsy ‘Betty’ Hunt
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Edmonton General Hospice on Sunday, April 8, 2018, Betsy ‘Betty’ Hunt of Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband: Robert; infant daughter: Nita; son-in-law: Bert Downing; sister-in-law: Joan Abbott; parents: Solomon and Stella Abbott. Leaving to mourn, four daughters: Lydia Downing, Harbour Grace; Eleanor (Dave) Evely, Freshwater, Carbonear Nita Hunt, Carbonear, and Maxine (Barry) Tessier, Alberta; three sons: Chesley, Carbonear, Robert (Shirley), St. John’s, and Roger (Rebecca), Australia; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother: Chesley Abbott, Gander; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Monday: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, P.O. Box 915, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1C4.
