Bessie Alma Martin
1920-2018
Bessie Martin, of the Fundy Royal Nursing Home,
Hillsborough, passed away at Dr. Georges Dumont University
Hospital, on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the age of 98
years.
Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late William and
Florence (Hems) Bleakney. Bessie retired after many years service with
the T. Eaton Co. working in both Moncton and Montreal. She was a
member of the Hillsborough United Church, a former member of the M.C.A
and the Seniors Bowling at Fairlanes.
Survived by daughter Heather and Gary Steeves of
Hillsborough; grandsons Darin and Christa Steeves
of St. John’s NL, Trent and Kim Steeves of Hillsborough; great
grandchildren Kelsey, Ella, Claudia, Marisa and Brodie
Steeves.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her former husband
and the father of her children Angus Wilson Martin; daughter Holly
Anne Martin in 2000; sisters Gladys Mollins and Ida Sherwood; brother
Vaughn Bleakney.
As per Bessie’s wishes there will be no public services held.
A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Edgett’s Landing,
NB.
Donations in Bessie’s can be made to the Greenhill Cemetery
or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
