Obituary of Bernice Kirkwood
Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Sunday, February 18th, 2018. Bernice Wilda Kirkwood (nee Lageer), of Owen Sound, at the age of 91 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Stewart Kirkwood (2006). Loving mother of David Kirkwood (Joan) and Terry Kirkwood (Jennifer), both of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren . Dear sister of Ellis Lageer of Kitchener and brother-in-law of Eddie Wunsch, of Mattawa. Bernice will be missed by her nieces and nephews and will be remembered by her former daughter-in-law, Joanne Johnston. Predeceased by her parents, Wilmot and Winnifred Lageer; her granddaughter, Tammy Kirkwood; her siblings, Florence Sandercock, Eileen Lageer, Althea Wunsch, Alex Lageer; her sister-in-law, Edna Lageer. A Memorial Service for Bernice Kirkwood will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mary Turner officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation as an expression of sympathy.
