Obituary for Bennie Campbell
Bennie died peacefully in his home on January 22, 2018.
He was born in Chiswick, Ontario (outside of North Bay) in 1934 to Gladys (Brown) and Brewin Campbell. He grew up in Sudbury with his little sister (predeceased) Joanne (Paul Smith).
He was happily married to Ramona (Lee) for over 65 years, whom he adored. They proudly raised 3 children Kim (Donna), Steven (Susan), and Carolin (Danny Markiewich). They were blessed with grandchildren, Sarah (Derek Roussy), Thomas (Sara), Spencer (Sarah), Todd (Stephanie), Thomas (Amanda) and Ashley (Summit Makkar). They were doubly blessed with great grandchildren Brooke, Brianna, Bennie, Mac, Zoe and Karter.
Bennie was taught strength and foresight by his father which allowed him to have a career he truly enjoyed. He owned, operated and maintained heavy equipment. He could fix anything.
He was fortunate to have a large circle of lifelong friends, (some more like family) whom he shared many interests with such as hunting, fishing, camping, target shooting, and square dancing. He loved nature and was surrounded by it on their property in Garson. He enjoyed wood working and wine making during his retirement. He gifted many of his creations including paddles, canes, candle holders and of course his famous blueberry wine.
Bennie was very fortunate to live life on his terms, which made for a content and happy one. He was able to look back on it fondly. To honour Bennie and his life well lived, his family asks that you raise a glass and remember him fondly. There will be no visitation or service at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations to All People’s United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
Order Flowers
