FORTIER, Beatrice (nee Kennedy} – Mrs. Beatrice (Bea) Fortier at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall, Ontario on Aug. 27, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Ovielda (Joe) Fortier. Loved mother of Carol Lalonde (late Mike), Lynn Compeau (John), Michael Fortier (Carmen), John Fortier (Sharon), Debbie Belmore (Allan), Melodie Coulas (Dave), Jammie Todd Fortier; and the late Suzanne Fortier. Sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, John and Sarah (nee Cardinal) Kennedy; brothers John, Lawrence, Fred and Hubert Kennedy; sisters Rose St-Denis, Julia Bridges, Margaret Hargrove and Florence Belisle. Mom lived and loved life to the fullest. As well, Mom raised and lovingly cared for her 8 children; she did it with grace and a guiding hand. Her sense of humour brightened the darkest of days. She was an avid golfer, bowler, curler and archer. She enjoyed her social time with her many friends playing bridge. No matter how many times the family moved due to Dad’s career, and we moved a lot, Mom always made our house a home. She enjoyed and flourished in many business adventures. Mom had a very tender heart for the many pets to whom she gave a home. We wish her peace on her journey to the Divine Spirit and her last wish be granted. She is finally and eternally at peace. God speed Mom. We would like to thank the Villa staff and nurses for their loving care of Mom and their kind words in our time of need. Her children will honour her with a Celebration of Life gathering. If so desired contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
