Obituary of Barry Thiele
Barry James Thiele passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on Thursday, January 11, 2018 where he resided at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, SK. Barry’s memory will be cherished by his daughters, Camille (Craig) Ells, Melanie (Raymond) Lishchynsky, Amanda Thiele and Yvonne (Basir Saleh) Thiele; grandchildren: Travis (Lauren) Ells, Chelsea Ells, Kristen Ward, Evan Ward, Yaseen Saleh and Aliyah Saleh; father, John Thiele. Barry is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Joan (Gordy) Majeran, Randy (Debbie) Thiele, and Jeanette (Raymond) Schade. He is predeceased by his mother, Victoria Thiele. Barry was born May 5, 1948 at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw. He grew up on his parents farm north of Spring Valley and attended Briercrest and Spring Valley schools. Barry married Patricia Hagley in 1969 and moved to Calgary where Barry attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology graduating from the Aeronautical Maintenance Program in 1971. Barry worked at the Calgary Airport and in 1972 purchased land, some of it in the Thiele name since 1907. Barry farmed a number of years raising his four daughters with his wife Pat. He worked with his cousin Brian Forman for Form Air in later years. Barry will always be remembered for his love of Cadillacs, country and pop music, and various collections he had over the years. A private family gathering will be held in memory of Barry. His ashes will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery. Barry’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Providence Place and Extendicare in his last year’s for loving care and support. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert St, Regina, SK, S4R 2N2, or to Diabetes Canada, 2301 Ave C North #104, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK.
