Obituary of Barbara Russell
RUSSELL, Barbara Elizabeth passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Friday January 12, 2018 at Portal Village Retirement Home where she has resided for the past 8 months (formerly of Lakeshore Rd, East). She is survived by her brother Andrew and brother-in-law Fred Ealaschuk, several nieces and nephews along with their children. Predeceased by her parents John (1987) and Mary (Nee Nagy) Rubocki (1983), brother John (1971), sister Mary (2013) and sisters-in-law Helen (2017) and Carol (2012). Barbara loved to read and enjoyed doing crafts and working in her gardens. She loved playing cards and board games with her nephews. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person. Barbara was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Port Colborne. At Barbara’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Princes Margaret Hospital or the charity of one’s choice. The family wish to express their thanks to the staff at Portal Village Retirement Home, CCAC, Palliative Care nurses Dawn and Jocelyn , and Dr Rungi and Dr. Scher for their excellent care of our aunt.
