1923-2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Barbara Anne (White) Taylor on June 21, 2018 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Barb was born on January 17, 1923 in Bunyan’s
Cove, Newfoundland and resided at the Wolfville Elms. After moving to
Kentville in the mid 1960’s, she worked at the Royal Bank, then as a
ward clerk at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium, the Blanchard Fraser
Memorial Hospital and finally retiring from the Miller Hospital. She
was the daughter of the late Lewis and Martha (Burry) White of Port
Blandford, Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon
Bennett Taylor, of Kentville, Nova Scotia; her brother, James Burry
White; step-son, Robert Taylor and step-daughter, Hallie (Larry)
Greer. She is survived by son, James White (Tammy) Taylor, Cambridge
Nova Scotia and daughter, Susan Elizabeth (Bill) Bishop, Ottawa,
Ontario. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Daniel,
Laura, Ryan and great grandson, Brett; her step-son’s, Thomas (Jeanie)
Taylor and Patrick (Carol) Taylor, as well as many great grandchildren
and great-great grandchildren whom she loved so much. A private family
service will be held at a later date. For those who wish to donate in
Barbara’s memory, you can do so to the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank
the dedicated staff at the Wolfville Elms for their compassion and
care of our mother. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
