Barb was born May 25, 1930 in Regina, SK, second of four children. She studied in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from the nursing program at Regina Grey Nuns Hospital in 1954, which started Barb’s career as a nurse. In 1957 Barb and Seb were married. Barb retired in 1993 after a successful nursing career, primarily within the obstetrics department at the Pasqua Hospital. Barb and Seb enjoyed traveling, and took many trips exploring Canada, the USA, and abroad. Barb enjoyed attending family gatherings, and hosted many family dinners over the years, keeping abreast of all the family news. She enjoyed animals, especially feeding bread to the neighbourhood rabbits and watching the birds in her feeders. She also enjoyed gardening, as evidenced by her beautiful garden filled with her beloved flowers. She loved her daily challenge of crossword puzzles. Always had a cup of tea, a puzzle, pen and her dictionary in hand. Barb was proud to be a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and Holy Child Parish throughout the years.
Barb’s family would like to thank the staff of Kozy Korner care home, the wonderful nurses of unit 3D at the Pasqua Hospital and Wascana Grace Hospice for their care and compassion.
At Barb’s request there will be no funeral service. A private interment service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
