Austin Boucher passed away peacefully at Muskoka Landing on September 18, 2018 in his 96th year.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Marion (nee Peters) in 2007.
Devoted father of Elizabeth (Blaine) Bennett, David (Karen), Brent (Edith), Doug (Cathi), Barbara (Georges) Lagasse, and Roger (Libby).
« Knocky » to his 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom he loved and adored all so much.
Survived by brother Don (Marj) and predeceased by brothers Robert and Bud. He will be sadly missed by his extended family, nieces and nephews living near and far.
Austin lived a long and full life. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, his family later moved to Mowat, Algonquin Park where he attended school for five years.
As a young man, Austin enlisted and served through the entire WWII; returning and building a successful business in our community. Family was always #1. With his family and close friends, Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, cottage life on Rebecca Lake, curling, golfing, and in retirement was able to travel and enjoy many years wintering at their home in Florida.
The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. McLinden, Huntsville Hospital; staff and caregivers at Muskoka Traditions and Muskoka Landing for their friendship and care over the past 8 years to Dad and our families.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Chartwell, Muskoka Traditions, 16 Legacy Lane, Huntsville from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
