Arlene Myers
We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Arlene Myers on October 8, 2018. Born in Belfast, Ireland April 23, 1958, coming to Canada in 1968. Arlene attended Northwood High and E.C.E. at Confederation College. She worked at McKellar Park School as lunch room and playground supervisor. She volunteered at Wesway, Connectors and Independent Living. Arlene was loved by many. Survived by mother Alice (N. Ireland), brother David (Japan), Stewart cousins Karen, Patty, Mike, Tim, Glenn, Tracy and families all residing in Thunder Bay, Susan Squire and Taniwa family. Predeceased by father Kennith Myers, grandparents Alice and Stanley Holland, beloved aunt and uncle Pat and Cecil Stewart and stepfather Ken Taniwa. Also survived by her dear friend Heather Olinyk (Mike) who she always referred to as a sister and Barbara Lyght who she called mom. Services will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue, on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Luncheon to follow at Broadway United Church, 1303 Broadmore Avenue. If friends desire, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society would be appreciated.
