Ardath Heis 1928 – 2017 On the morning of Nov. 18, 2017, Ardath passed peacefully at the Swan Valley Hospital in Swan River, MB.
Ardath was the daughter of Gordon and Christena Dinsmore born in Gore Bay Ontario. There she met and married Jim Heis in 1950 at which time moved to Sudbury for Jim to work for Inco. In 1960 they moved to Thompson. They lived in Thompson until Jim retired in 1983. They spent their retirement in Minitonas during the summer and Weslaco Texas in the winter. They were together for 63 years enjoying the outdoors until Jims passing in 2013.
Ardath is survived by sons Michael and Stephen (Shelley), daughters Lori (Lawrence) and Janet. Sister Donna (Blair) Bailey and brother Bill (Florence) Dinsmore. Grandchildren Shannon (Chris) Byford, Kristin (Sean) McKenzie, Kurtis McLeod, Joey Woods, Crystal Heis, and Richard Heis, and many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks from the family to Leo and Betty MacCumber, the people of the Pioneer Baptist Lodge, the ladies of homecare and the nurses and staff at the Swan Valley Hospital for helping to make our mother’s final years’ worth living. Thank you deeply.
In keeping with Ardath’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
