BLESKIE, ANNE (née Dombroskie)
Anne passed peacefully at the age of 67 years at Health Sciences North on August 16, 2018. Born on October 1, 1950, she spent her formative years in Combermere, attending St. Mary’s Convent School, and starting work at a shirt factory in Kitchener. She followed her future husband to Sudbury, and has spent the next 48 years building and nurturing her beautiful family up North, while always holding Combermere close to her heart.
Anne is now joyfully reunited with her beloved parents Martha and Paul Dombroskie (both predeceased). She leaves behind devoted husband of 47 years Richard. She is missed greatly by her siblings Shirley Maika (Bernard), Robert Dombroskie (Stephanie), and Susan Lauzon (Frank). Anne was a loving, supportive mother to Jeanette (Pete), and a proud, doting grandmother to Michael. She cherished her many nieces and nephews. Anne had few words but touched many lives, and is missed by the countless friends she has made with her kind spirit and gentle smile.
Anne enjoyed many simple pleasures that enriched her and those around her. Her winters were largely spent snowmobiling, a sport she enjoyed as a trail patroller and as a member of the Broder Dill Snowmobilers Association. The summers were either spent in her vegetable garden, or travelling from coast to coast. She was just as easily spotted at church teas, doing midnight puzzles with her husband, or hunting that elusive treasure at yard sales.
She was an enthusiastic member of Holy Redeemer Parish, often participating in the annual Christmas food basket deliveries, or contributing to various causes around the parish.
Friends may call at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury from 2-5PM on Sunday, August 19, 2018. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish, 1887 Bancroft Dr., Sudbury at 11AM on Monday, August 20, 2018. Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated.
