Anna Pearl Reid
1929-2018
1929 … 2018
With sadness we announce the passing of Anna P. Reid of Millville, NB,
at the Nashwaak Villa nursing home in Stanley, NB on August 25, 2018.
Anna was born April 10, 1929 in Hawkins Corner, NB, a daughter of the
late Clarence and Clara (Good) MacDonald.
She is survived by her children Duane MacDonald (Joyce), Temperance
Vale, NB, Teresa Brown (George), Millville, NB and Penny Reid (Paul),
Oakville, ON; her brother Dean (Jim) MacDonald (Muriel), Tracyville,
NB; sisters-in-law Marina Hull (Norman), Millville, NB and Geraldine
Reid, Nackawic, NB; a step daughter-in-law, Darlene Reid (Peter),
Millville, NB; grandchildren, Michelle (Mike), Andrew (Melissa),
Janelle, Yared, Jason (Christine), Whalen (Maria), Karen, Brian
(Christine) and Shawn (Carla); several great grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred
Reid Jr.; a brother, Ralph MacDonald (late Ruth); two sisters, Glenna
Chute (late Garfield) and an infant Jean; a stepson, Mack Reid;
several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in the Reid family.
Anna lived in Millville from the time she was a young girl. As a young
woman she worked on area farms, then later at Reid’s General Store
with Alfie and was a devoted stay-at-home mom for Penny. Grandchildren
often stayed when they were young and she always enjoyed visits with
little ones. She enjoyed gardening and grew large vegetable gardens
for many years. She liked to be outdoors whether working in the yard
or in the woods. She enjoyed a game of cards, going for a drive, trips
with Alfie, and loved watching hockey and baseball. She was a good
cook but tried hard to tell you it really wasn’t very good though we
ate it just the same. She was a dedicated caregiver to her parents in
their later years and a devoted wife and caregiver to Alfie. Her last
few years were spent at Nashwaak Villa. We cannot say enough thanks to
all the wonderful staff at the Villa for their love, care and kindness
to Anna, and to all of us.
Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are welcome
to attend a graveside service on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11 am
at the Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Anna, the family
has suggested the Hawkins Corner Cemetery or the Nashwaak Villa (Bus
Fund).
Arrangements by Flewelling Funeral Home, Nackawic, NB.
