Obituary for
Anna Veltri
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Maria Veltri, a devoted and loving wife, mother, nonna, sister, aunt and friend. Anna passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2018 at the age of 79. Born October 23rd, 1938 in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Pietro, parents Antonio and Maria Giuseppa Sicolo, brothers Francesco and Elio, in-laws Napoleone and Giuditta, sisters and brothers-in-law Eugenia and Emilio Fiorino, Evelina and Antonio Pietramala, Fortunato Veltri, Emma and Emilio Marrello, and Pasqualino Saccomanno. Anna is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, Napoleon (Louisa), Peter, Anthony (Teresa) and five grandchildren, Daniel, Karyssa, Isabella, Nicolas and Natalie, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brother Dario (Nella), sister Maria Stella and sisters-in-law Christine, Nella, Tarsilla and Maria, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends both in Canada and Italy. For the past eight years, Anna was lovingly cared for in the comfort of her own home, facing her illness with tremendous courage. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers who looked after Anna’s needs with so much love, kindness and compassion. Anna’s thoughtful and caring nature, cheerful disposition and generous spirit will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9th, 2018 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 10th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 525 S. Slocan Street, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s honour may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
