MacDowell, Angus John. In his 82nd year, passed away peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital, with his children at his side, on Friday, August 24th, 2018. Predeceased by his father, Colonel Thain Wendell MacDowell, V.C., D.S.O, mother, Norah Jean MacDowell, (Hodgson), and brother, Thain.
He is remembered by his family and friends as a prominent and highly respected member of the Scottish traditional highland community who had successfully composed tunes that were played for the Queen of England
He is survived by his three children Angus Stuart, Patricia Elizabeth, (Rick), and Kenneth Richard, (Tara). As well as his grand children Braden Patrick Thompson, Brianne Antosha MacDowell, William Richard MacDowell, Angelica Gloria Chartier-MacDowell and Isabella Grace MacDowell.
A ceremony of celebration will be held at Mount Royal Crematorium Chapel, on Monday, August 27th 2018 at 11:00 am
