It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew McNally, age 57, following a brief illness. He died peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on January 23, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Elmer McNally, Timberlea and Ruth Hamlin, Windsor. He was a loving son and brother and will be dearly missed. He was an accomplished athlete in his teenage years excelling at the sports of hockey, lacrosse and basketball. Following high school he worked for years for CICB and then went on to work for Sobeys and later, the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation. He was a former member of the Avon Valley Golf and Country Club and enjoyed many trips with his buddies to play golf in the USA. He will be lovingly remembered by his father Elmer McNally, Timberlea; mother Ruth Hamlin, Windsor; sisters Elizabeth McNally, Lakeside, Dr. Carolyn McNally, Lantz and Julia (Kevin) Arenburg, Brooklyn, along with many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his cherished feline companion Abby. Special thanks to the kind and caring Doctors and nurses on 4.1 at the Infirmary and on 9A and 6A at the VG Hospital. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Please do an act of kindness in Andrew’s honour. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or a charity of choice.
