Alvin Ernest Slater passed away peacefully on July 19, 2018 at the age of 88 at Kelowna General Hospital. He is survived by his children Sandy, Ernie (Cathy), Bruce (Kimberly) and Renee (Dale), 5 grandchildren Amanda (Len), Kristy (Casey), Kayla, Gerrit (Shaunice) and Kelsi and 4 great-grandchildren Liam, Ava, Brandon and Sophia as well as many nieces, nephews and his cousins in Saskatchewan.

He was married to Irene Faulkner on December 22, 1961 until she passed on December 2, 2002. He married his second wife Nora Fidler in February 2004 until her death in 2017.
He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Hilda (Ray), Ivy and Hazel (George) and niece Sylvia and nephew Grant.
Al worked at both Greyhound Canada and the Penticton School Board for a number of years until his retirement and was a long-time member of the Elks Club of Canada and served in many roles.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends at Ranch Park and Northwood Retirement Resort and especially by his family. Anyone who knew him will remember his sense of humor and his entertaining stories and jokes.
