The death of Alton Peter Baisley husband of Minnie (Matchett) Baisley of 67 years , Miramichi, NB, occurred at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 87. Born in Trout Brook, NB, Alton was the son of the late Alexander and Letita (Mullin) Baisley. Alton worked as an auto mechanic at Flett Motors and then owned a service station in Trout Brook. Afterwards he ran a trucking company for several years where he ran a tandem truck, porter and a tree farmer tractor. Alton loved tinkering with his machinery, landscaping his property and was very proud of his rhubarb patch and apple trees. Alton spent a lot time in his garage planning various woodworking ideas and fixing his lawnmower. He will be missed by his grandchildren and daughters-in-laws who he loved immensely. He had a huge heart of compassion and was very generous for a friend or family member when in need. Besides his wife, Minnie, he is survived by three sons: Calvin (Carmel) of Loggieville, NB, Gyles (Marilyn) and Blair (Verna) all of Trout Brook, NB.; two sisters: Frances O’Shea of Sunny Corner, NB, Maryen Baisley of Africa; one brother: Jackson (Myrtle) of Brantford, ON; eight grandchildren: Zachary, Ethan, Jacob, Brett, Kara, Craig, Heather-Dawn, Kayla-Lynn ; eight great grandchildren,also several nieces and nephews. Alton is predeceased by infant son David, brother Hiriam, sister Marguerite Fisher and young sister Verna.
