It is with sadness that the family of the late Alphonsus Hynes announce his passing at Martin’s River, NS, on July 4th, 2018 at the age of 59 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his common-law wife Christine Swyers, son Gordon Joseph Hynes (Genee) in Ontario, 4 brothers: Robert in Ship Cove, Jerome (Cindy) in Stephenville, Terrence in Dartmouth, NS, Rodney in Stephenville, 4 Sisters: Elizabeth Bennett in Stephenville, Veronica (Clarence) Downey in Alberta, Ursula (Albert) Pynn in Grand Falls, Angela (Gerald) Jesso in Port au Port, granddaughter Dayne and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Augustus & Mary Hynes and brother Daniel. Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville, on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 10 AM from St. Stephens Parish Church on West Street, with interment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Alphonsus’s memory.
