Obituary of Alma Mary Burke
BURKE, Alma Mary
Age 91, of River Bourgeois, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Born in River Bourgeois, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Boucher) Burke. Alma and John enjoyed many years traveling in their RV with family and the many friends they met along the way. A lifelong CWL member, she was an avid card player and loved crossword puzzles and bingo. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, John, daughter Colleen, Halifax; sons Neil (Maureen), River Bourgeois; Russell (Mabel), Timberlea; grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Tasha Lynn (Dan) Hemming, Alisha (David), Toronto; Joel (Britney), Halifax; Kristine (Matt), Halifax; Laura (Hunter), Germany; Sarah, Timberlea; Luke, Calgary. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Alma was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Arthur, Thomas; and her sisters Claire, Cecilia, Catherine, Lillian and Mildred. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the River Bourgeois Visitation Parlour, 8133, Highway 4, River Bourgeois. Funeral Mass will take place at St. John the Baptist Parish, Church Point Road, River Bourgeois on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. Father Antolin Asor presiding. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, River Bourgeois. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. John the Baptist CWL or the River Bourgeois Visitation Parlour.
