OBITUARY
Mrs. Alma Bernice Anderson
September 8, 1923 – October 31, 2018
ANDERSON, Alma Bernice
Nee McDonald
September 8, 1923 – October 31, 2018
Born in St. Boniface, Winnipeg to Johanna
(Strindlund) and Angus. Peacefully, passed
into the night after a long journey.
Predeceased by the love of her life, Clary, and
her son Michael. Bernice leaves to mourn her
children Caisey (Denise), Hugh (Lorill), and
Georgia (Roger Taillieu). Also grandchildren
Bryan (Zabrina), Tina, Kristina (Mike),
Mellinda (Andy), Scarlet (Cory), Alex, Seann,
and Heidi (Dan), as well as 7 great-
grandchildren. Bernice was also predeceased
by her sisters Betty May, Lorna O’Brien and
Joanne Strachan, and leaves many nieces
and nephews. Growing up in St. Vital, Bernice
had an idyllic childhood spending time on the
Red River and Grand Beach every summer.
After many visits to Vancouver, she and Clary
jumped at the chance to move there during
the war years. Excitement ensued in her
various roles as mother, homemaker,
seamstress, designer, nutritionist, real estate
agent, teacher, program writer, sailor, family
historian etc. A brilliant woman who could
figure out just about anything. Bernice
enjoyed helping others and over the years
had a list of renters (paying and otherwise).
She passionately pursued art and gardening
after the loss of Clary. She kept her family
close and they her. She lent a kind ear to all
who needed it and there were many. Rest In
Peace Mom. You are the best. Thank you to all
the staff at Inglewood Manor for all your love
and support over the last 8 years. Donations
kindly accepted to the Salvation Army or the
charity of your choice. A private ceremony
has been held.
