Obituary of Allison Merritt
Merritt, Allison George passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on September 8, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Mink Cove, Digby County, NS, he was the son of George and Flora (Crowell) Merritt.
He was a fisherman, carpenter, musician and Jack of all trades, but most of all, he was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by wife, Etta; sons Charles (Elaine) and Andrew; daughter Sharon (Fred) and Cindy; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Allison was predeceased by his parents; first wife Thelma; brothers Kenneth, Arlington and Bradford; sister Margarite.
A visitation will take place on Thursday September 13, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Digby County Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Rossway Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Maves and Pastor Linda DeMone officiating. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the VON or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
