Allan “Al” Edwin Milner
May 15, 1932 – November 16, 2018
Allan “Al” Edwin Milner husband of the late Phyllis Clara (Roy) Milner of Miramichi, NB passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the age of 86.
Born in Sackville, NB, he was the son of the late Nelson and Hepsey (Wheaton) Milner.
Al worked with various companies throughout the province, Lounsbury’s, Household Finance Company, Newcastle Curling Club, Flett Motors Ltd., and M & R Beverages where he retired.
Al was a member and past Charter President of the Newcastle Lion’s Club.
He was involved in sports, namely hockey, baseball, and curling where he has recognition both as player and volunteer in his hometown of Sackville and in Miramichi.
Al also enjoyed trips to the woods for hunting and was a licensed guide for fishing on the river.
Al is survived by two sons: Andrew (Michelle) of Barrie, ON and Scott of Toronto, ON; two sisters: Connie Milner of Sackville, NB and Mary Joe Smith of Trenton, ON; two grandchildren Jessie and Zachary Milner of Barrie, ON, as well as his Bowie family here in Miramichi.
Besides his parents and his wife Phyllis, Al is predeceased by two infant sons; one sister: Dora Burgess and two brothers: Bud and Robert.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway on Tuesday, November 20th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place from Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church, Miramichi on Wednesday, November 21st at 1 PM with Reverend Thomas Nisbett officiating.
Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Al’s memory donations may be made to the NB Kidney Foundation or a memorial of one’s choice.
