Alice Van Dyk, in her 87th year, passed away with the love of her family, on July 8, 2018. Alice was born on a farm in Leusden, Holland on September 18, 1931 to the late Jacobus and Matilda Van Nes. Alice was predeceased by her husband Jim, on December 10, 2009. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jerry (Helen), Linda (Paul), and John and his wife Anna. She was a loving Oma to her 13 grandchildren, Grace, Harrison, Kelsey, Jenna, Corrine, Janine, Katelyn, Kyra, Janna, Jeron, Kirstie and twin boys Jonathan and Joseph. Alice found her greatest joys in the time she spent with her family, her gardening and took tremendous pride in her life with Jim as dairy farmers in the Stratford area. Alice is survived by her brothers Theo Van Nes, Jack Van Nes, and Harry and his wife Marijke Van Nes and sister-in-law Betty Van Nes, Aleida Van Burgsteden, Maria Van Esveld, Richarda Van Eijden. She was predeceased by her sister Rita and her husband Fred Baker, and brothers Bill and his wife Margaret Van Nes and Henk Van Nes and sisters-in-law Regina Van Nes, Teresa Van Nes, Johanna Hartman and Gerarda Verhoef and brother-in-law Father Jan Van Dijk. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday July 15th from 1 – 4 pm with prayers to follow at 4 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday July 16th at 11 am. Rev. Fr. David Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery with a light lunch to follow at the church hall.
