Alice Saruk (Ali) nee Ewasiuk
On October 1, 2018, Alice Saruk Passed away peacefully at the age of 90.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Brian (Lise), Timothy (Nancy) and Patti-Lynn (Allan). Her 7 grandchildren, Crystal (Ryan), Shaun, Caleb, Vanessa (Dee), Ryan, Alicia and Falyn.
As well as 11 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends especially dear, dear special friends Barbara Eleniak and Gail Ewasiuk.
Alice was born the last of 8 children to parents John and Lena (Helen) Ewasiuk on February 09, 1928 in the hamlet of Chipman, Alberta. She lived and worked on the family farm and attended school in a one room building that served all grades. She was an excellent student and moved to Edmonton at 17 to attend Alberta College, where she graduated with honors, with a secretarial as well as accounting and bookkeeping degrees. She was a stay at home mom until 1965, when she began working at a new store in town Woodward’s, where she worked for 25 years, first as the stores bookkeeper, then she moved to watched and clocks, a position she loved. She remained there till her retirement.
Alice was an accomplished musician playing many instruments, as well as an excellent seamstress. Sewing constantly for her family.
They resided in the same family home for 60 years.
Alice was active in her church Northgate Baptist and loved to sing and attend all church functions. She also loved to host her bible study group. She was an avid reader and gardener and was known and loved in her church and community.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Northgate Baptist Church, 13208-95 Street, Edmonton, AB with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice ‘s name may be made to Northgate Baptist Church, or the SPCA.
