Obituary for Alice Newman
It is with saddened hearts that the family of ALICE NEWMAN (nee Gatecliff) announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Alice passed away peacefully at Fiddicks Nursing Home, Petrolia, at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by her husband, Andy Newman (1993), and Stan Wilson (1966), also by parents, Minnie and Wes Lemoine, her siblings, Cecil, Bessie, Ruby, Jack, Annie Mae, Irene, and Doreen. She is survived by a sister, Shirley Carroll Alice leaves behind her children, Betty (Doug) Betts, Cecil (the late Sandra) Wilson, Dan (Rosemary) Wilson, Eleanor (Bob) Muir, Marie (the late Dennis) Jackson, and Nancy (the late Carl) Dixon. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Lori Ann (Sid), Steven, Dean (Trish), Michael, Jen (Len), Blair, Mark, Jon (Lynda), Andrew (Christine), Stephanie (Fidencio), Derek (Shannon), Jamie (Tammy), Missy (Adam), Jason, Susan (Scott), Lacy (Mohamed), and Matthew, as well as thirty great grandchildren. Alice was a stay at home mother who loved to knit, crochet, sew, play music, play cards and mostly loved to bake. She had the best buns in town. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia where visitors will received prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery.
