Obituary of Alexandria Boire
Boire, Alexandria, (nee Krysac) – it is with heavy hearts that we announce Alexandria’s passing, following a short but intense and grueling battle with brain cancer. Born May 26, 1947 in Brampton, Ontario, Alex died peacefully and with love in her heart on June 27, 2018, in the arms of her beloved husband, Raoul Peter Boire, and surrounded by her loving children, Christopher (Lisa) Taylor, and Geoffrey (Susie) Taylor, as well as her sister Cindy. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren Jacob Taylor (Erin), Robin Taylor (Cameron), Kate Taylor (Ben), and Abby Taylor (Chris), as well as her great grandson Hunter. Also survived by siblings George, Evelyn, Cindy, Robert, Victor, Wendy and Willie (Manie) Krysac, and many nieces and nephews. Alexandria was predeceased by her parents Stan and Anna Krysac.
Alexandria came to North Bay in the early 70’s, where she began her interior design work, out of Metz Furniture. She then started her own company and expanded into design of additions and renovations as well as new houses. She had clients throughout Northern Ontario but mostly in North Bay, New Liskeard, Sturgeon Falls and Sudbury.
She also loved art, (oils, water colours, pencil crayons and acrylics), was a passionate gardener, an avid knitter and an energetic crafter, especially when her grandchildren and nieces came to the Isle of View on the Upper French River, where she and her husband spent 28 wonderful summers.
Alex and her husband spent many winters in many parts of Mexico, Texas and Florida, all the while working, thanks to computers, fax machines and scanners. It was in Progreso, Yucatan, that she rescued her best furry friend Vivaz.
She had unique designs in her head and could see a finished product before putting pen to paper. A high energy gal with a creative mind, she also set a mean dinner table and decorated a spectacular Christmas tree year after year. Beauty in all things visual was her motivation. She felt that visual beauty soothed the soul, for the artist as well as the client.
The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding support of doctors from the Near North Medical Clinic, Dr. D. Ng, Dr. M. Leckie and Dr. R. Senior; the North East Local Health Network Coordinators, Occupational Therapist, Social worker, & Nurses and PSW’s from Care Partners. Not enough can be said for the doctors, nurses, and other health workers at the North Bay Regional Hospital. The care and compassion of all of these people made our jagged journey bearable.
Cremation has taken place according to Alexandria’s wishes, and visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wed. July 4, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A private family service will take place later.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alexandria’s memory can be made to the North Bay Humane Society or to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
