August 9, 1927 – July 25, 2018
Captain Alan White passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Alan was a Veteran of World War 2, and was a member of the Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association, also was a long serving member of the Sunshine Coast Navel Association. Alan worked for the BC Ferries for 37 years. When he retired he was the Senior Captain.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Eleanor, his parents Clare and Daisy White, and sisters Vivian Reeves and Judy Reeves. Survived by his daughters Cathy (Dave) West and Judy Jones, son Ernie White, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Doreen Harris and Elaine Shaw, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alan was born in Burnaby, BC and moved to the Sunshine Coast when he was nine and there met his future wife Eleanor.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and golf.
The family would like to thank Dr. Reznick and all the caring staff at Sechelt Hospital.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 1, 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Sechelt Legion.
