Peacefully, with her family at her side, Aileen Mary Mahon of Edmonton passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 92 years of age.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Maureen Bourque, Kim Brunet-Wood (Geoff) and Mary Bowie; son, Bill (Simone); grandchildren, Scott (Myrna), Sara (Warren), Bruce (Linsay), Alison (Trevor), Stefanie, Devon, Stephanie (Derek) and Cameron (Andrea); grandson-in-law, James; great grandchildren, Emily, Eliza, Conner, Ava, Gabby, Maksim, Addeline, Clara, Ethan and Owen.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her parents, Ernest and Mary Aquilon; her brothers, George, Lyle and John Aquilon; and son-in-law, Ron Brunet as well as many other relatives and friends.
Aileen was a woman of great faith who cherished her family and friends. She married John Mahon and together they raised their 4 children in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. John owned and operated the movie theatres there for many years. John and Aileen retired to Kelowna, B.C. in 1990 and spent many happy years there. They relocated to Edmonton in 2009 to be close to children and grandchildren.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 St. NW, Edmonton, Alberta. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Thomas More Parish, 210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton, AB. In keeping with Aileen’s wishes, she will be laid to rest in Kelowna, B.C. at a later date.
