Adriana (Mayo) Bertha Kieboom, beloved wife of the late (2017) Albert Kieboom of Lacombe, Alberta passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the age of 88 years.
Adriana was born in Rotterdam, Holland. She married her beloved husband, Albert, in Hilversum, Holland in 1955. Albert and Mayo immigrated to Canada in 1958 with their two children, Yost and Alma, initially residing in Calgary. Their third child, Sheila, was born to them in Calgary, in 1960. They resided in Calgary for several years and then, over several more years, relocated to Millarville, Blackfalds and Creston, eventually settling in Lacombe in 2005.
Mayo supported Albert in his many business ventures which included owning and operating Carpet Colour Centre in Red Deer and owning and operating the Blackfalds Nursery. Mayo enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, reading, knitting, listening to classical music, playing King’s crib, word search, flowers, croquettes at Gull Lake, milkshakes and ice cream at Sylvan Lake. She is survived by her children, Yost (Jamie), Alma and Sheila (Daryl) as well as nine grandchildren; Jessica (Jeff), Travis (Ashley), Kyle (Kim), Karla (Ryan), Cody (Sara), Vanessa (Matt), Steven, Courtney (Scott), Colten and seven great grandchildren; Paisley, Alivia, Carter, Jaxton, Dax, Emilee and Logan. She is sadly missed by her brother in-law Gerrit Reiche and the rest of her extended family in Holland.
Donations in Mayo’s honour may be made directly to a charity of the donor’s choice.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Friday December 28, 2018 at the Fairview Cemetery in Lacombe, Alberta at 1:00 pm.
