Passed away peacefully on 12 November 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Kathleen Mary ‘Kaye’ Weglo. Loving father of David (Alana), Donald, Kathleen (Marianne Turner) Sharon (Greg Squires), and Wendy (Grant Dalton) and proud grandfather to Adrian. Predeceased by sister Martha, brothers John and Richard, and granddaughter Nicole.
Further survived and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Born in Winnipeg, Ed grew up in Manitoba, living and working in Bissett and Winnipeg, then obtained an Engineering Degree from the University of Manitoba. After travelling British Columbia undertaking water level and flow surveys, he travelled East to Ottawa where he became an editor for the Federal Canada Water Yearbook and met his wife of 63 years.
Ed will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, distinguished federal public servant (Energy Mines and Resources – Water Quality Branch), curling and tennis enthusiast, and keen undertaker of household projects no matter how large or small.
Family wish to thank The Ravines and Maplewood Retirement, the Champlain LHIN, Bayshore Home Health and private personal support services for their kindness and compassion.
Friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Monday, November 19th from 11 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12 p.m. Reception and interment to follow.
For those who wish memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
