Obituary Overview
Lovingly Remembered
Adolf Woessner was born into a community of ethnic Germans living in Beresina, Bessariabia, Romania on March 2, 1927, approximately 100 km from his future wife. By 1945 he was living in West Germany, again, approximately 100 km away from his future wife. By 1951 he made his way to Calgary, Alberta, Canada and lived in the community of Bridgeland, 1 km away from his future wife. By 1955 he met and married his beloved wife Helen. For obvious reasons, Adolf believed that this was a marriage made in heaven and they had lived happily together for over 63 years. By 1964 they had three children; by 1997 he had five grandchildren.
Adolf had a strong belief in Jesus and when he looked back at his life he truly believed that the hand of God lead him to his success and that he had very little to do with it. We think he did have a lot to do with it but it is a testament to his humility and modesty that he would not take personal credit for his achievements.
Adolf loved his family, friends and life itself and was a very social person who lived a balanced life. He treated all people as equals and had a good sense of right and wrong. For entertainment he enjoyed sports, history and politics. On September 10, 2018 Adolf left this world in peace surrounded by LOVE.
Adolf’s personality and character exceeded his remarkable achievements. He will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the Service.
