De Toni, Ada Mary (nee Xamin)
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ada De Toni on September 22, 2018, at the age of 80. Ada passed peacefully at the Monfort Hospital with her husband and children by her side. Ada leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years,
Danny De Toni, her children Darcy (Elena), Rob (Bogena) and Allison (Glen) along with her grandchildren, Noah, Lola, and Lucas, Jack and Ben, Zack and Abby. Ada also leaves behind her siblings Chuck and Judy along with many nieces and nephews in the Greater Toronto Area as well as close friends in Ottawa. Ada was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Giuseppina Xamin along with her siblings Frank, Angie, Joe and Eddie. Ada was born June 25, 1938, in Timmins, ON, later moving to Toronto. She worked supervising switchboard operators at Bell Canada where she was introduced to Danny through mutual friends. They
moved to Ottawa in 1973, settling in Blackburn Hamlet where they raised their family. Ada was a kind and gentle person who put her heart and soul into her family, caring for us until she was no longer able. Ada always waved to us from the dining room window when we were kids going to school and as adults when we left family gatherings with our own children. She continued to do so even when Alzheimer’s took its hold. Mom, we have to wave goodbye now until we meet again. We love you and we miss you.
