Obituary Overview
Abram (Abe) Kroeger
Abram (Abe) Kroeger was welcomed into the arms of The Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 29th, 2018, at 83 years old. Abe was predeceased by his parents, John and Marie Kroeger; first wife, Jean (nee Billings); sister, Mariecha Kroeger; brother, Henry Kroeger; brothers-in-law, John Loeppky, Tony Garman, and Jake Wall; as well as two step-grandchildren. Abe was born April 26th, 1935, on his parent’s farm in Hanley, SK. He completed his grade 12 at Rosthern Junior College. Abe then married Jean, raised their two children, Garth and Glenda, and spent 52 years together before Jean’s passing. He had a longstanding carrier in the insurance industry, and spent numerous years playing baseball and hockey. Abe thoroughly enjoyed his time with his “hockey family », who he played with until the age of 74. Abe was a very generous man, volunteering his time with the church, as well as the political community and Kiwanis Club. After the passing of his first wife Jean, he met another angelic woman, Barb (nee Brown), who became his wife December 8th, 2012. The were fortunate to have spent 5.5 years together before his passing. During Abe’s later years of life, he enjoyed being surrounded by his blended family, church family, and friends. He was very well respected and loved by many people, due to his loving and caring nature. He also had a very quiet strength in his
demeanor, as well as a (funny) mischievous side. Abe is survived by his wife, Barb; son, Garth (Cindy); daughter, Glenda (Don); step children, Bob (Sylvia), Jo-Ann (Terry), Cathy, Wilfred (Kim), and Vernon (Melinda); grandchildren,
Alison (David), David (Christina), Reegan (Angela), and Tyson; as well as four great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the apples of his eye. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Baptist Church, Prairie Hospice, or St.Paul’s Palliative Care unit.
