McInnis, Barbara (nee Daniel)
Barbara McInnis passed away on December 23, 2018 at the age of 85 years, joining her beloved husband Bruce who died November 30, 2017.
Barb is lovingly remembered by her children Vicky (Mike Hansen), John (Karen Keenan) and Elizabeth Maccabe (Scott), her grandchildren Erika, Laurel, Elise, and Justin, her brother Jim, cousin Margaret, sisters-in-law June, Marian, Shirley (Balfour), Doreen, and many family members and friends.
Barb was devoted to family and to her hometown of Kincardine, spending glorious summers at the cottage on the lake. During her teaching years she particularly enjoyed helping students from disadvantaged circumstances, finding something positive to say in every report card (“he is a really fast runner” is an example of a desperate effort.)
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.. A Funeral Service in Barb’s memory will follow at 2:00 p.m. followed by light refreshments in the Davey-Linklater Lounge. Interment Kincardine Cemetery.
If the weather is inclement, we encourage people to think of Barb instead of driving to attend.
Memorial donations to Kincardine Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expression of sympathy.
