It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Marjorie (nee Colburn) Brown on Dec. 17, 2018, 1 day short of her 93rd birthday. She was surrounded by her loving granddaughters at Harbour View Hospital in Sydney Mines.
Nana was the daughter of the late Carl and Pearl (Harris) Colburn and was the last surviving member of her immediate family and a life long member of Carman United Church.
Nana was always a very active lady busy working in her yard, baking, and enjoying her years with the Tops organization. She loved her Sunday drives with Papa and cooking lobster on Saturday for her family and friends.
Left to mourn are her loving granddaughters, Wendy (Michael) Rideout, Cheryl (Justin) Clarkson; great grandchildren, David and Ashley Clarkson and Alyssa Rideout; her son-in-law, Edward Fraser and sister-in-law, Loretta Colburn.
In death Marjorie will be joining her loving husband, David (Davy) Brown; her beloved daughters, Evelyn Ferneyhough and Sharon Fraser and her grandchildren, Leanne and Darryl Ferneyhough. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Eleanor and Evelyn; brothers, Lloyd, Gordon, James, George and Densmore.
A Funeral Service will be held at Carman United Church, Sydney Mines on Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating. Interment to take place in Brookside Cemetery in the spring.
