Obituary of James « JH » Keeling
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday morning, December 17th, 2018. James Henry “JH” Keeling, of R.R. #1, Bognor, at the age of 90 years. Dearly loved husband of Lois Jean Keeling (nee Long) for 66 years. Loving father of Tim Keeling (Linda), of R.R. #1, Bognor, Jane Ribbel (Rick), of R.R. #6, Owen Sound, Peggy Keeling, of Thunder Bay, Judy Bridge (Cecil), of Wiarton and Dan Keeling (Marlene), of Pikwakanagan. Proud grandfather of Mary (Mike), Bill (Michelle), Andy (Candace), Katie, Sarah, James (Jessie), Daniel (Athena) and great-grandfather of Jackson, Ava, Mason, Hunter and Evelyn. Dear brother of Lois Slumskie, Patricia Waugh (Dennis) and Ken Keeling (Mary) and brother-in-law of Lois Ann Armstrong, Marjorie Doyle and Shirley Copping. Jim will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Elgin and Mary Keeling; his siblings, Elgin, Mike and Alex Keeling and June Smith (Cecil); his nieces, Denise Dickinson and Pam Smith; his nephew, Patrick Keeling. Jim had enlisted in the Canadian Special Forces and had gone to Korea.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service for Jim “JH” Keeling will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 21st, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Michael Henkel officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6 will hold a Memorial Service on Friday at 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Veteran Association, the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation and the Salvation Army as an expression of sympathy.
