Obituary of Leon Smith
SMITH, Leon Lloyd (proudly served with the Canadian Navy from 1956 – 1966, was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and retired from Brock University after 35 years of service) – Passed away unexpectantly at the N.H.S. – St. Catharines site, on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Leon « Smitty » Smith of Thorold in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Bev (Mullins) for 59 years. Dear father of Evonne (Jeffery Nesbitt), Juanita Spink, Roxanne Smith and David « Sam » Smith (Karenn). Loving Nampy of Melissa (Ryan Gillen), Nicole (Michael Dolch), Stacey Nesbitt (Joshua), Jessica Smith (Andrew), Jonathon Spink (Jaimee), Jacqueline Smith, Sabrina Smith and great grandfather to Madison, Kaydence, Jack, Jordan, Victoria, Kingston, River and Savannah. Brother of Sheldon Smith (Faye), Roxanne Smith and the late Delmar Smith. Leon will also be missed by his nieces & nephews, his in-laws Ronald and Janice Mullins and his best friends Ron and Diane Darling. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018. Everyone is then invited to drop in at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, Branch #17, 3 Ormond Street South, Thorold, on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. A special thank you to Dr. Rammohan and the nurses at the N.H.S. Critical Care Unit of the St. Catharines Site for their special care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
