It with great sadness that we announce that after a 2 year battle with cancer, our brother Murray left us on Thursday, December 13, 2018 with his family at his side.
Murray was born in Trail, BC and lived in Rossland where he grew up and went to school. He had also lived for short times in Trail and Genelle and was employed at Cominco pulling tanks in the tank room and then in the equipment dept, for over 30 years before retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to music and dabbled in painting over the years but his great joy was his cats, you could often see him out walking with his cats following along. Early on he developed a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and rode for as long as he could.
Murray is predeceased by his parents Lucille (2018) and Jimmy (1985), and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his brothers Lee (Kerry), Ron (Maureen) sisters Colleen Holm (Larry) and Bonnie Langman (Bill), nieces and nephews – Sam Holm (Jenn), Elise Graham (Aynsley), Jeff Holm (Michelle), Reg Langman and Emily Langman.
The family would like to thank everyone who provided support to us in the past few months but in particular Dr. Jenkins, Cindy and her staff – Home Support, nurses Amy, Megan and all the KBRH 3rd floor medical staff, Danika – social worker and Gwen – Hospice. A special thank you to Kelly and all the Respiratory Staff for the great care you provided Murray.
There will be no service and cremation has taken place. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of your sympathy, donations in Murray’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at c/o 15-835 Spokane Street, Trail, BC, V1R 3W4 or online at www.cancer.ca
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Murray Dale Flanders December 13th 2018..
