It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Sister Carmen Marquis of St. Albert, on December 8, 2018 at the age of 92.
Sister Marquis was born in Baker Brook, N.S. on May 28, 1926. Her parents were Benoit and Adeline Marquis. She had six brothers and seven sisters. She leaves to mourn the Grey Nuns, a brother, Venance, and four sisters: Sr. Corinne, r.h.s.j., Claire, Pierrette and Gaetane, and many nieces and nephews. Also to mourn her is her good friend, Joy. She joined the Grey Nuns in Montreal in 1944 and served in many capacities, such as musician and LPN in Calgary, Saskatoon and St. Paul, AB. She will be greatly missed by her former co-workers.
The Grey Nuns wish to thank the staff at Youville Nursing Home for their dedication and loving care during her two years in Long Term Care.
There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Connelly-McKinley Chapel, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta on Friday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. Father. Ed. Kosa, O.M.I. will preside. Interment to follow at the St. Albert Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Youville Home, 9 St. Vital Ave., St, Albert.
